Night of the Abominations
Evil thinks it's won this night...but it hasn't met you yet

You need to get to the bottom of this! You have a friend at the University who is a Professor; obviously this is not normal or natural, and he might be able to make sense of this insanity. You quickly and carefully make your way to your vehicle which, fortunately, has not been touched by looter or monster. You peel out of the parking lot, dodging (and ramming) as the road warrants. The University is strangely quiet when you arrive, parking near the building that specializes in courses related to history, archaeology, paleontology, mythology, and the like.

"Professor?" You risk shouting out, your voice reverberating into the empty halls. In response, a middle-aged man with graying hair steps out of his office, a cutlass strapped to his side and a .38 revolver in his hand. He sighs in relief when he sees you and motions you inside.

Inside, his office is a mess of opened books, his computer humming along. All the books are opened to pictures of artifacts and writings in a language you've never seen before.

Skipping all pretense, the Professor explains, "I knew there was something going on with that new 'church' that opened up months ago! I thought I'd recognized the scripture they were using, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Now I know, beyond all doubt...This is some cult trying to summon some horrific eldritch abomination into our world!"

"Can we stop them?" You ask.

The Professor points to a page with a artifact on it. "This is how they've been performing the ritual that's brought all this about. If we destroy it, we can stop them from completing the ritual." He looks you in the eye. "Are you with me, my friend?"
