Their origins in ecological campaigning stretch back to the 1970s, and in recent years the Greens' growing presence at local, national and European level has led to them outlining detailed policy proposals for all areas of governance, and emerging as a real force on the British left. The First Past the Post system keeps their seat count low at general elections, but votes with a higher level of proportionality (as is the case here) tend to be the Greens' time to shine.

With their slogan "No to Brexit. Yes to Europe", the Greens are an unambiguous Remain vote.
