You jump off the plank shouting "Cannonball!!!"at the top of your lungs. The pirates on board think you meant an actual cannonball, so they run to their battlestations or whatever. This would have been a perfect moment for you to escape, however unfortunately you are currently in mid air curled up, ready to cannonball into the ocean. Is that ironic? I have no idea.
